As You Like It by members
of the Sock and Buskin Society, circa 1916.
The actor playing the Clown is Frederick H. Koch, UND Professor of
English (1905-1918) and Founding Director of the Sock and Buskin
Society. The photo was taken in Woodworth Auditorium, the first
indoor home of the Sock and Buskin Society.
The S&B had dedicated the 1915-16 season to the research and
celebration of the 300th Anniversary of the death of William
Shakespeare. The season culminated with the nationally renowned
